Dry Recyclables
The EU 6th Environment Action Programme is primarily aimed at significantly reducing the volume of waste generated through waste prevention initiatives, better resource efficiency and a shift towards more sustainable production and consumption patterns.
In 2007/08 Ireland generated 3.7 million tonnes of waste while the United Kingdom generated 25.3 million tonnes. With increasing demand from the European Union to meet recycling and recovery targets, both the Irish and UK governments' policies on waste management are changing to meet these pressures.
Dry waste is waste that is dry and un-contaminated. Recyclables such as waste paper, metal cans, plastic bottles, floppy disks, batteries, glass bottles, old clothes, baskets, pens and shoes are all dry waste, from which we can sort out many useful materials for recycling.
At Manvik we are at the forefront of waste management initiatives. We understand the importance of the EU drive to reduce the volume of waste in the region and we have a range of solutions aimed at the collection and recycling of dry waste.
Our broad range of recycling vehicles are the cornerstone of our waste management solutions. We have vehicles to meet all requirements from city centre collections to collections in rural areas.
Our world-class baler range can quickly and efficiently bale a large variety of materials from plastic bottles, steel cans and aluminium cans to cardboard, paper and other recyclable materials. Manvik's selection of compactors and shredders are also aimed at proficiently dealing with recyclable materials.
