You forgave the person two years ago. Your shoulder kept the meeting. Your body decided something once, under pressure. It has kept that decision ever since. A held shoulder is an old opinion, kept out of habit. A braced body stands down once someone asks it properly. That asking is the work.
A jaw stays tight from a year of bad news. A breath stays shallow from a childhood of listening for the front door. A stomach turns over at a certain tone of voice, twenty years after the voice went quiet.
Your calendar holds none of this. Your mind moved on. Your posture stayed loyal to an old situation.
Ask yourself a small question. Where does your body go first when someone raises a voice near you? Most people can point to the spot inside a second. That speed tells you the decision lives below thought.
A much older map of the body tracked a current running through it. The Vedic observers named that current the life breath, called prana in Sanskrit, written प्राण. Prana moves with your attention. A room full of strain pulls at it. You can feel the pull in the hour after a hard meeting.
Those observers mapped the channels the current runs through, each one called a nadi in Sanskrit, written नाडी. They also described a layer of a person made of this current, called the pranamaya kosha in Sanskrit, written प्राणमय कोश. Modern practice calls the same layer your energy field. Two maps, drawn centuries apart, describe the same territory.
You stay fully clothed. You lie down or you sit, whichever suits your body that day. My hands rest on you or near you. You tell me which you prefer. We keep to it.
Then we wait together. Most people feel heat first. Some feel a low current in the hands and feet. Some feel nothing for twenty minutes and then feel a whole shoulder let go at once.
Watch for the ordinary signs. A long yawn. A sigh with no thought behind it. The stomach making noise. The body letting go has a sound. Most people learn to recognize their own.
Some clients speak during a session. A memory surfaces and asks to be said out loud. We make room for that. Silence works equally well.
I describe what I feel under my hands in plain words. I make no claim about the nature of what moves. You remain the judge of your own experience. That sentence sits on my terms page in the same form.
This work sits alongside your medicine rather than in place of it. Your physician keeps your diagnosis and your treatment. Pain lasting more than a few weeks deserves a medical opinion first.
Most people feel tired in a clean way that evening. Drink more water than usual. Sleep arrives early for a night or two.
The change shows in small physical facts. Your shoulders sit lower in a meeting. You notice your own breath reaching further down. Old bracing leaves in layers. One layer a session is an honest pace.
Your body can be asked properly this month. This work sits under Energy Healing on my practice page.
